From February 15th until March 31st, Wawa will be hosting blood drive sites in four of their operating states: PA, NJ, MD, and VA. The partnership will help continue a tradition of nearly two decades of excellence and build on the success of last year’s festival. Mayor Michael A. Wawa, Inc., today announced that their chain-wide, in-store crisis campaign, designed to send aid to those affected by the Haitian earthquakes raised more than $350,000. Now in its fifth year, the Annual Environmental Community Service Award will once again be presented by Wawa, NBC 10, and the environmental law firm Manko, Gold, Katcher & Fox, LLP (MGKF). The goal of the Environmental Community Service award is to raise awareness of environmental concerns and to recognize middle and high schools in the Delaware Valley for their efforts in environmental service projects that enhance and improve the quality of life in their communities. Wawa Launches Prices You Can Trust Campaign throughout Greater Philadelphia

Wawa Launches Campaign to Alert Consumers about Surcharges When Paying Credit for Gas
Wawa, Inc. today announced that beginning August 17th, they will launch a Prices You Can Trust advertising campaign in the Greater Philadelphia area, in an effort to educate customers about fees that an increasing number of retailers charge when customers purchase fuel with credit cards. Some retailers post fuel prices on signage that reflects a lower price associated only with cash purchases. When the transaction is paid for with credit, however, several cents per gallon are added with minimal disclosure. Read More

David Haynie of Monroeville, New Jersey won first place prize in Wawa’s Hoagiefest contest in the category of Best Video, for a piece entitled, Sub-Terranean Hoagie Blues. Evan Emerle of Barrington, New Jersey won second place prize in Wawa’s Hoagiefest contest in the category of Best Video, for a piece entitled I Love Wawa. Wawa, Inc. announced that beginning June 1st, they will launch a No-Surcharge advertising campaign, in an effort to educate customers about fees that an increasing number of retailers charge when customers purchase fuel with credit cards. The practice is to post a fuel price that seems low; when the transaction is paid for with credit, however, several cents per gallon are added with minimal disclosure. Wawa, on the other hand, offers one low price for both cash and credit – and never imposes a credit surcharge in any of their 270 stores with gasoline. Read More
